Facebook

If you want to build brand awareness and connect with your customers, there is no beating Facebook. To claim and set up the Facebook Places page for your business. The first step is to create your Facebook Page by going to https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php. When you click on Local Business or Place, you will be taken to a page that will require you to fill in the required details of your business. After this you can use your admin panel to edit your page, build your audience, and fill your page with the requisite content. Once you have created your official local business page on Facebook, it’s time to claim your Facebook Places page.
Go to your Facebook Business Page and click on the arrow on the box next to “edit” and select ‘Is this your Business?’ When you click on it you will be taken through a series of steps that will ask for information about your business. You will now need to verify your connection to the business by either choosing an email verification process or by uploading the necessary documentation. Choose the email option only if you have an email address linked to your Facebook account and which also serves as your business email address. In terms of documentation, you will need to scan or click a picture of an official business document, like business license, tax file, phone bill, etc., and upload it.
Now you are done claiming and setting up a Facebook profile for your local business. All you need to do now is start managing it.

Foursquare

Foursquare is a location-based social networking site for mobile devices that gives your business a mobile footprint. With more people using mobile devices to search for businesses, a presence on Foursquare is one of the most popular social media tool for local businesses. Create a Foursquare Page and connect it with your Twitter account. When you create your page make sure you complete your Page Profile. Now you want to add your listing to Foursquare’s searchable database. If you don’t have a business listing, you can create it on https://foursquare.com/login?continue=%2Fadd_venue. The business listing will ask for your phone number, your website’s URL, links to your Twitter and Facebook profiles, hours of operation, and description of your business. Make sure you leave no information out.
Once your business listing has been added to Foursquare, claim it. When you claim your location, you are telling Foursquare you are the manager of that venue. You can claim multiple locations of Foursquare; all you need to do is to provide verifiable contact information. Once you are done listing and claiming your location on Foursquare, you can begin adding specials, checking your analytics, and a whole lot more. But the most important way to use Foursquare is to take the time to build up a network of just local followers and interact with them.

Google + Local

The local pages on Google+ Local closely resemble company Facebook Pages —they interact with Google Maps, Zagat reviews, and Google+. But the big thing is that your local pages will be indexed by search engines. Just click here to read my article on how to put your small business on the map!

PAID TOOLS

Yelp

This is another directory that is scaling the popularity charts, though for a small monthly fee. The 3-step process to be followed for claiming a Yelp listing for your business is similar to the processes on other sites. First go to https://biz.yelp.com/claiming. Type in the name of your business. If it shows up and is unlocked, somebody has already claimed it. If it turns up locked, click on the ‘Unlock’ button.
Another scenario is that your business listing doesn’t turn up in search. Don’t worry, just click on the ‘Add your business to Yelp’ link, which will take you to a page that will allow you to do just that. Once you click on ‘Add’, you are done. Now wait for the confirmation email from Yelp. You are done claiming your listing. Now you need to optimize the page by adding as much business information as you can. This could mean including more business information, photos, responding to reviews, and a whole lot more.

“The Bottom Line”

In using these social media tools, it’s very important that all your profiles contain complete and up to date information. Also, your contact addresses and phone numbers must be the same across all your profiles. Maintaining profile consistency across different online directories will boost your local SEO efforts and allow you to target market local customers for your business.

How to Find a Legitimate Work From Home Job

work from homeFinding a work from home isn’t easy. It’s going to take some work and research to find a legitimate job. First, review the types of work at home jobs that are available, along with job listings. Then, check out the lists of companies that are known to be “telecommuting friendly” and hire employees or freelancers to work from home. Most of these employers list work from home jobs online.

Work From Home Jobs
Here are the types of work from home jobs that companies typically hire for.

•Call Center Jobs
•Home Agent Jobs
•Mystery Shopping Jobs

•Virtual Assistant Jobs
•Work From Home Job Listings

•Work at Home Career Information

Work at Home Job Listings
In addition to companies that typically hire employees that work from home, there are sites where you can find work at home job listings. Carefully review the listings you find, because you will find scams can slip through the cracks and get posted on even the best sites.

LinkUp
Job search engine LinkUp.com searches only for jobs on company web sites, so it’s a good way to avoid scams. Search using “telecommute” or “telecommuting” as a keyword to find legitimate work at home job listings.

SimplyHired.com Work at Home Jobs
Use Simply Hired’s “telecommute” search options for find work at home job listings from job boards, company web sites, and other sources.

Work at Home Listings From Job Search Engines
Job search engine sites allow users to search by keyword and location. If you have specific skills (i.e. insurance claims, customer service, web design) such by those skills and terms like work at home, freelance, telecommute, etc.

Craigslist
Search for work at home freelance positions by entering “freelance” or “work at home” as a keyword in the search box on the front page of the site. Otherwise, click on the city that interests you and review the list of job openings.

Job Boards
Monster, CareerBuilder, Yahoo! Hot Jobs and the other top job boards all contain work at home job listings. It takes some work just to weed through the postings, but, they are there. Search using keywords like “freelance” “telecommute” “work from home” and “work at home” as well as by the type of work you are interested in. Again, be specific.

Trusted Resources
There are hundreds of legitimate companies that use home-based workers, either as employees or as independent contractors (freelancers).
The people they hire work from their own home using computers they already have and high-speed internet access. They perform certain tasks and are paid on a weekly or per task basis. You can get a list of these companies from a trusted guide like work-at-home guide.info.

Social Media Management

Another legitimate work at home opportunity of a somewhat a different nature, is to set-up your own business as a Social Media Manager or a Social Media Virtual Assistant. Helping individuals or businesses to set themselves up on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, or Youtube, and then to assist them in managing these social media tools and others, is in high demand. There are training programs for this type of work that you can simply search on the web.

A Word of Work From Home Warning

Jobs that promise you oodles of money with little investment of time and no experience aren’t legitimate. Legitimate work at home jobs are going to require that you have skills relevant to the position. Many jobs require skills like writing, graphic design, programming or web design, for example. If you don’t have any experience in the field(s) you are interested in, it’s going to be difficult to find an employer willing to hire you. Most employers who are willing to hire someone to work from home and want workers who can work independently and get the job done with little guidance.

Finally, please take the time to research every job lead you find and every site you visit carefully. Even sites that purport to be impartial sometimes aren’t. I just visited a site that supposedly had general information on telecommuting. They recommended their top sites, all of which happened to be affiliated indirectly with the first site and all of which charged a fee.
However being asked to pay a fee is not the same as purchasing a guide that includes a list of legitimate companies that will hire you to work from home.
So I hope this bit of information will be of help to you on how to find a legitimate work from home Job that fits you! Happy surfing!

How To Build Confidence, While You Grow Your Business

H0w to Boost Self Confidence

7 Ways As Your Business Grows

What individual comes to your mind when you hear the word confidence? Could it be someone you know personally? Perhaps someone you knew in the past? Anyone who knows me on Twitter, @rjack55, will recognize my background image being that of the late, great, Muhammad Ali, who to me have always epitomized the word confidence-which I use to symbolize the trait in myself and my abilities as a Social Media Specialist. True, self-confidence is not an overnight acquisition. The definition itself means: “belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities.” It sounds simple but not always the case. The good news is you don’t have to be a Muhammad Ali to be successful with your business as a truly confident entrepreneur. All you need is just a little to start out with, and as your business grows, so will confidence in yourself. So here are 7 ways to build that confidence, while you grow your business.

1. Be Organized. If you are a solo entrepreneur don’t try to take on too much at one time. This will actually make you think you lack ability and as a result, you lose confidence. Be patient and build your business one step at a time.

2. Become An Expert. Don’t feel that you have to be an absolute expert in your field or niche. Learn how to promote your products or services, perhaps harnassing the power of social media, to where you are seen as an expert. As others began to look to you for information, this helps build your self-confidence while you are still learning and gaining experience with your business.

3. Choose A Role Model. This can be someone close to you or someone famous or inspirational. It could be an associate or a former boss who you respected. Think of the qualities that the role model displays, whether physical, emotional, or morally. Work towards acquiring those traits. You will find that it may help you to become a better business person which will help you to build confidence in yourself.

4. Make A List of Your Strong Points. Focusing on your strong points helps distract you from those parts of yourself that you think are flawed. It doesn’t have to be a specific skill or activity either; it can be an approach or an attitude. For example: Are you calm or collected? Are you very patient with people? Do you always see the humorous or bright side of things? These are all strong points!

5. Work On Your Elevator Pitch. What is an Elevator Pitch? This is a concise, well-practiced description of your idea. It should end by asking for something to start a relationship. You’ll find if you get people to ask questions or build a relationship with you, this will boost your confidence in yourself.

6. Improve Your Posture. Having good posture can actually make you feel more confident. Don’t slouch or slump your shoulders when you walk. Make sure that your back is straight, your shoulders are square, and your chest is puffed out slightly, but stay loose. Good posture also helps with deep breathing, which helps with feeling calm and relaxed.

7. Think Less- Learn By Doing. Let’s say you are selling a product. Maybe jewelry or cosmetic and you want to approach a stranger with that product. If you over-analyze on what you can say, you can get negative and get caught up in all the possibility of things that can go wrong. So just do it! Preparation is good but sometimes you can actually doubt yourself. So think less, and learn by doing! Your skills will get stronger as a result, which will help increase confidence in your abilities. How to Confidence Yes more and more today are taking the task of starting their own business, either offline or online with the help of social media. If you are one of these then don’t hesitate because you feel you lack confident. No matter whom you are, a little self-confidence can go a long way in building your success.
So “Float Like a Butterfly and Sting Like a Bee!” Yes-you can DO IT!!!
